PlastiVation presents complete production cell with electric injection molding machine at Fakuma

(Munich, August 28, 2023) PlastiVation Machinery GmbH will present two Tederic ‘NEO series’ injection molding machines in production operation at Fakuma 2023 (October 17-21, 2023 / Hall B3, Booth 3216). As part of a complete production cell with industrial robot, a NEO-E230/e620 electric toggle injection molding machine produces a business card box, while a NEO-T90/i380 cost-efficient hydraulic toggle injection molding machine produces a plastic cup.. Fakuma also marks the launch of the second generation of Tederic ‘NEO series’ injection molding machines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Efficient production of plastic products and increasing popularity of the Tederic ‘NEO series’.

“We are looking forward to the Fakuma 2023 with excitement and optimism, having made our first ever appearance there two years ago in the start-up area. We see the fact that we are presenting two Tederic ‘NEO series’ injection molding machines this year as evidence of increasing market acceptance of injection molding machines among plastics processors in Germany, Austria and Switzerland,” says Bengt Schmidt, founder and CEO of PlastiVation Machinery GmbH. Of the four lines of the economically attractive and reliable Tederic ‘NEO series’, PlastiVation will be presenting a powerful electric NEO-E as part of a complete production cell and a cost-efficient hydraulic universal injection molding machine NEO-T at the show. “The popularity of the Tederic ‘NEO series is increasing, both for energy-efficient and technically sophisticated production solutions and for the large machines in the NEO-M and NEO-H series. We are feeling a tailwind as customers repeatedly buy injection molding machines, so we are heading for a high double-digit machine count in the market by the end of the year,” says Thomas Strecker, new Vice President Sales since August.

Launch of the second generation of the Tederic ‘NEO series’.

“Two years ago, we introduced the Tederic ‘NEO series’ to the market. Fakuma will now see the launch of the second generation of machines in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, all with significantly higher clamping force sizes,” says Schmidt. For example, the high-performance electric toggle injection molding machines of the NEO-E series are available up to clamping force sizes of 1,400 t (previously 1,088 t), the modern hydromechanical two-platen injection molding machines of the NEO-H series up to 5. 500 t (previously 4,500 t), the multi-component injection molding machines of the NEO-M series up to 3,520 t (previously 1,920 t) and the cost-efficient hydraulic universal injection molding machine NEO-T up to 1,050 t (previously 500 t).

Business card box: Complete production cell with electric NEO-E230 and automation

A business card box made of polypropylene (PP) is produced on a powerful NEO-E203/e620 electric toggle injection molding machine with a clamping force of 230 t and a screw diameter of 32 mm. Shot weight is around 40 grams and cycle time is 25 seconds for a 1+1 cavity. The NEO-E230 is equipped with a KEBA machine control and a 15-inch screen. “The business card box is manufactured in an automated production cell that fully complies with European safety standards (CE conformity) and is implemented with high-performance partners,” Strecker emphasizes.

The business card box consisting of housing (19.5 g) and fold-out compartment (12 g) has a total weight of around 31 g. It is manufactured in a 1+1 family tool, which was developed and built in cooperation with various partners.
Wirth Werkzeugbau GmbH was responsible for the design and construction of the mold.
INCOE supplied the hot runner system, which uses the new 4.0 Sentinel module with various sensors on the hot runner to record and monitor process data during operation and trigger appropriate alarms and protective measures.
Development of the molded part and mold layout was carried out by ADROITEC GmbH. Acquisition, display and online transmission of the process data is carried out via software from ADROITEC, which has also installed the CAVITY EYE internal pressure measuring system in the mold as a good/bad part separator.
The two molded parts are removed by an industrial robot, which then assembles them into the finished business card box and places it on a conveyor belt. Translated with

Plastic cup: production on cost-efficient hydraulic injection molding machine NEO·T90

The cost-effective NEO-T90/i380 hydraulic toggle injection molding machine produces a plastic cup made of polystyrene with a clamping force of 90 t and a screw diameter of 38 mm. The cup weighs 37 grams, and the minimum cycle time is 40 seconds. The tool partner is HASCO Hasenclever GmbH + Co KG. The NEO-T90 is equipped with a KEBA machine control and a 12-inch screen.

Customer Care: Service packages and digital solutions to increase efficiency and process reliability

“Furthermore, we will inform plastics processors at Fakuma about our four service packages, including “Energy-Care” to reduce energy costs. They can also find out about our digital solutions and technical assistance systems ServiceNET and EasyNET, which offer application and service technicians advantages in terms of information transparency, process reliability and production efficiency,” says Schmidt. As a co-exhibitor at Fakuma, KSS Jansen will represent the six high-performance service partners in Germany. Based in the Rhineland, KSS Jansen offers a comprehensive customer service for injection molding machines, from the provision of spare parts and machine repair and maintenance to the general overhaul and modernization of complete injection molding machines and hydraulic units.
